Who is eligible for services at the Clinic?
We provide services to children, adolescents, and families. Tulane University students seeking services are referred to Counseling and Psychological Services.

How does one initiate services at the Clinic?
If you are interested in receiving any of our services, please call the Clinic and leave a message with your contact information and a good time to reach you. A staff member will return your call within 48 hours and will obtain basic information about why you are seeking services at this time. If a therapist has an opening on his or her caseload, he or she will then call you to schedule your first appointment. From this point on, your therapist will be your liaison with the Clinic and can help you with whatever questions or concerns you may have. In the event that we are unable to accept new clients at the time of your initial call, the Clinic Coordinator will call you to discuss the timeframe within which we will be able to schedule an initial appointment with you and to provide you with referral options, if desired.

How much do services cost?
Fees for services are assessed on a sliding scale that is based on household income and number of dependents. Fees vary depending on what services you are receiving. Please see our Services & Fees page for more information.

Do I need a referral?

A referral from your physician or other professional is not neccessary for assessment or treatment at the Clinic.

I am a physician or a teacher, and I want to refer a child I know to your Clinic.  What do I do?

In order to begin services with our Clinic, the client's caregiver(s) must begin the process by calling us. You may provide the child's parents or legal guardians with our contact information and encourage them to call us.

Will my information be kept confidential?
We maintain confidentiality in accordance with our professional ethics and state law. We do not disclose the identity of our clients or anything concerning them without their written permission. At your initial appointment, your therapist will discuss with you and provide written information about exceptions to confidentiality. Circumstances in which confidentiality cannot be maintained include: court orders and subpoenas, the need to prevent a client from harming him/herself or others, and if the therapist knows of or suspects child abuse or neglect.

Where is the Clinic located?

Where can I park when coming to the Clinic?
A temporary permit to park on campus can be provided for clients of the Clinic. Also, on-street parking is abundant and easily accessible from the Clinic.

How are Clinic fees used?
The Clinic is self-supporting and could not operate without charging fees for services provided to clients. The Clinic’s office equipment and furnishings, office supplies, and testing, treatment, and training materials are paid for through Clinic fees.

Do I have to participate in research in order to receive services?
No. Clients are informed of ongoing studies, but they are not required to participate in any research conducted at the Clinic.
